Mr. & Mrs. Satyendra’s Journey to North & East Sikkim

There is something inherently magical about the Himalayas that makes it the perfect beginning for a new chapter in life. Between February 26th and March 5th, we at Indrakeel Tours & Travels had the absolute pleasure of hosting newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Satyendra for a memorable 7-day Sikkim honeymoon trip across the stunning landscapes of North and East Sikkim.
From rain-kissed mountain drives to cozy cafe dates on MG Marg, here is a glimpse into their beautiful romantic getaway.
Day 1: The Beginning of a Beautiful Journey (Bagdogra to Gangtok)
The trip kicked off with excitement as we welcomed the happy couple at Bagdogra Airport. The winding drive up to Gangtok alongside the Teesta River set the perfect mood. Upon reaching the capital city, the couple checked into their hotel to relax, acclimatize, and prepare for the high-altitude adventures ahead in their Sikkim honeymoon trip.
Day 2: Rain, Romance, and the Road to Lachung
After a hearty breakfast, the couple set off for North Sikkim. The drive from Gangtok to Lachung was straight out of a movie. A gentle, unexpected rain showered the valley, adding a moody, romantic vibe to the lush green mountains and cascading streams. They reached the picturesque mountain village of Lachung in the early evening. The weather had turned wonderfully chilly—perfect for cozying up with a hot cup of tea at their homestay.

Day 3: Snow and Smiles (Yumthang Valley & Zero Point)
This was the day for high-altitude thrills! The couple headed up to the famous Yumthang Valley (the Valley of Flowers) and further up to Zero Point (Yumesamdong). Surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and freezing temperatures, Mr. and Mrs. Satyendra captured some incredible honeymoon photographs against the pristine white landscapes, creating memories to last a lifetime.
Day 4: The Tallest Cascades (Lachung to Gangtok)
Saying goodbye to Lachung, the couple began their descent back to Gangtok. A major highlight of the return journey was a stop at the majestic Bhewma Waterfalls, popularly known among tourists as the Amitabh Bachchan Waterfalls due to its towering height. Standing before the roaring cascades made for another perfect photo opportunity before they settled back into their Gangtok hotel for the evening in Sikkim honeymoon trip.
Day 5: A Day of Love and Leisure (Gangtok City)
A Sikkim honeymoon trip shouldn’t just be about rushing from one tourist spot to another; downtime is essential. Day 5 was a dedicated rest day. Mr. and Mrs. Satyendra spent a leisurely afternoon strolling down the vibrant, vehicle-free cobblestones of MG Marg. They went cafe-hopping, enjoyed some delicious local food, and later hit up a local club in the evening to experience Gangtok’s lively nightlife.

Day 6: Yak Rides and Alpine Lakes (East Sikkim)
The itinerary took them towards East Sikkim to visit the sacred, high-altitude Changu Lake (Tsomgo Lake). While the original plan included a visit to the Indo-China border at Nathula Pass, the mountain roads were blocked by heavy snow. However, this didn’t dampen their spirits! The couple made the most of the frozen, ethereal beauty of Changu Lake and enjoyed a traditional, colorful Yak ride along the banks—a true Sikkim staple!
Day 7: Carrying Memories Home (Departure to NJP)
With a camera full of photos and hearts full of memories, it was time to say goodbye. After breakfast, we drove the couple down to the NJP Railway Station for their onward journey home, successfully wrapping up a flawless and romantic 7-day Sikkim honeymoon.
